UCP PESCARA MIDDLE ADRIATIC

The UCP Pescara -Middle Adriatic was created with the aim of offering the population of Abruzzo a qualified point of reference for the diagnosis and treatment of coloproctological diseases, in line with the standards of excellence promoted by the SIUCP-ETS.

Based in Pescara, the UCP is proposed as a reference point for a large and heterogeneous catchment area, which unites the Adriatic coastal strip to the inland areas of the Apennines, filling a specialist care gap in the territory.

UCP is an integral part of the Department of General Surgery with an oncology address, directed by Prof. Pierluigi Di Sebastiano, a University department belonging to the School of Specialization in General Surgery of the D'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, at the "Pierangeli" Privat Clinic Hospital.

Raffaella Di Renzo, MD is the Coordinator. She is a General Surgeon, specialized in coloproctology, SIUCP-ETS executive member with the role of Treasure,in the past former regional delegate for Abruzzo. She pays a lot of attention to the scientific and practical training of new surgeons through the School of Specialization (role of Expert for General Surgery, Colo-Proctological Surgery, Surgical Semeiotic); finally teacher of the school of proctological ultrasound of the SIUCP-ETS

The UCP Pescara-Middle Adriatic is characterized by a truly multidisciplinary approach, which involves coloproctologist surgeons, urologists, gynecologists, gastroenterologists and specialists in pelvic floor rehabilitation, integrated into a unique and shared diagnostic-therapeutic pathway, centered on the patient.

Particular attention is paid to colorectal and anal oncological pathology, addressed in close collaboration with the Radiotherapy department, to guarantee an integrated treatment path that combines clinical expertise, continuous updating and attention to the person.
